MovingTaxes.com ("we," "us") matches people planning international moves with partner tax firms and specialists — including US-licensed CPAs and vetted local tax advisors. This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it. Short version: when you submit an inquiry, our service is introducing you to one or more partner firms, and that requires sharing your details with them. That is the product, and we say so plainly.

1. What we collect

When you submit our form, we collect the information you provide: the type of move (personal, retirement, or business), your full name, email address, destination country, city (if given), phone number (if given), and anything you write in the optional context field. Please don't include sensitive personal details (such as health information or account numbers) in the free-text field — anything written there is shared with partner firms along with the rest of your inquiry. We may also collect basic technical data automatically (IP address, device/browser type, pages visited) through standard analytics tools.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Match you with one or more partner firms (tax, accounting, legal, or relocation professionals) suited to your move, and share your inquiry with them so they can contact you directly;
• Respond to you, send you relevant guides and updates about moving abroad (you can unsubscribe anytime);
• Operate, analyze, and improve our website and matching service.

3. Sharing with partner firms

This is the core of our service: we share your inquiry — including your name and contact details — with carefully selected partner firms so they can contact you about your move. Depending on your situation, this may be more than one firm (for example, a firm in your destination country and a US-based tax firm). Partner firms are independent businesses; once they receive your inquiry, their own privacy practices apply to their relationship with you.

We do not sell your information to mass marketers, data brokers, or list resellers.

4. Legal basis

Where EU/UK data protection law (GDPR) applies, we process your information on the basis of your consent, given when you submit the form after being informed of this sharing, and our legitimate interest in operating and improving the service. You may withdraw consent at any time (Section 7).

5. Data retention

We keep inquiry data for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain our business records, and meet legal obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymized. If you ask us to delete your data, we will (Section 7).

6. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies and privacy-standard analytics to understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, email us at hello@movingtaxes.com with your request. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. Note that we cannot recall information already transmitted to a partner firm; deletion requests for data they hold should also be directed to that firm, and we will tell you which firm(s) received your inquiry on request.

If you are in the EU/UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. International transfers

We operate from the United States and our partner firms are located in various countries. By using the service, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, with safeguards as required by applicable law.

9. Children

Our service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
